The relationship in the story a rose for Emily is very strong. There is this woman names Emily that the whole town just adorers. She is always nice to everybody even if they aren't nice to her. So in the story it is about how Emily grows old and starts to get sick and the whole town is feeling sorry for her cause they can't do a lot for her. So In this relationship, Emily’s health is harmed by sickness, which is like parasite that harms one side and benefits the other. The relationship between her father and the mayor is also another example of amensalism, because they came up with a lie so they could refuse to pay taxes. This action can be think of as Emily’s family is harming the society by not paying taxes and they are unaffected. For the relationship between Homer Barron and Emily, The man was found died in Emily’s house after she passed away. Even though, the story does not tell directly that the man was killed by Emily, but it is not hard to put the pieces together and figure out the truth. Emily killed the man she once loved. In this relationship, Homer is the one harmed and Emily is the one unaffected. So with the relationship Homer is like the host body he doesn’t get anything and then is later killed by the parasite which is Emily, Emily is the parasite she gets everything from Homer and then later kills him because he doesn’t have anything to offer.
